In winters (from December end till mid March) the motor road from Joshimath to Auli is not operational due to heavy snowfall. Cable car is the only mode of transportation from Joshimath to Auli. The last trip of the cable car leaves from Joshimath to the Resort at 4:00 pm (July-April) and 6:30 pm (May & June). Tourists must reach Joshimath before the last trip of cable car. Tourists reaching late may have to stay in Joshimath overnight. Members visiting Clifftop Club Resort have to alight from tower number eight of the cable car
